Our Attorneys in San Diego, California and Tijuana, Mexico
In all our matters, Antonio Maldonado and William Markham chart the underlying strategy and perform the essential legal analysis. If the client agrees in advance, we sometimes associate with other attorneys in our larger matters or delegate certain simple tasks to a junior attorney who performs the work at a lower hourly rate under the direct supervision of Mr. Maldonado or Mr. Markham. We associate only with attorneys who have excellent backgrounds and meet our professional standards.
Mr. Markham is the firm's lead litigator, and he also supervises our litigation group, which employs one associate attorney, other attorneys for specific assiignments when appropriate, and two paralegals who are graduates of the same law school in Mexico. Our associate litigator is Dolores Contreras, who is a recent graduate of California Western Law School (2007). She obtained high grades in law school, already has courtroom experience, and is equally fluent in English and Spanish. She works under Mr. Markham's direct supervision.
In our litigation group we also employ two paralegals who are fully bilingual in English and Spanish and have excellent legal training: Jennifer Ordorica is licensed to practice law in Mexico and is a graduate of a superb Mexican law school, Universidad Autónoma de Baja California. Ms. Ordorica works in our litigation group as Mr. Markham's principal assistant. She is particularly skilled at reviewing, analyzing and organizing evidence. Laura Avila likewise holds a law degree from Universidad Autónoma de Baja California. She works directly with Mr. Markham to review and organize evidence in our largest matters. Ms. Ordorica and Ms. Avila are fluent in Spanish and English, and they are both dedicated, conscientious professionals who excel at their work. In addition, Mr. Markham sometimes collaborates with other attorneys in certain of his larger matters, and he can readily assemble a team of first-rate litigators for the largest efforts that require more substantial staffing.
Mr. Maldonado is the firm's lead attorney for transactional work and business immigration, and he also employs one associate attorney, other attorneys when appropriate for specific assignments, and a team of excellent paralegals.
We also work with two highly regarded lawyers in Tijuana: Luis Alfonso Leyva-Castro, who is one of Tijuana's best civil litigators, and Jose Cuauhtemoc Rubio, who specializes in Mexican immigration and nationality law.
